Atlassian’s Journey to Cloud: What It Means for Ricksoft Customers

Just recently, Atlassian announced its plan to end the sale and support of Server offerings as part of its transformative journey into becoming a cloud-first company.

Overnight, the Atlassian community buzzed with news of migrations, potential cost changes, and more.

As an Atlassian App Vendor, we at Ricksoft, understand that our customers want to know how their well-loved Server apps like WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira will change in light of this announcement.

In today’s blog post, learn how the sun-setting of Atlassian Server products will affect our apps, our support services, and of course, you.

How Ricksoft Is Expanding into the Cloud

To align with Atlassian’s journey to the cloud, we’ve been making strategic changes to our products and services. Here’s what you can expect from us from 2021 onward.

Feature Parity Is Our Priority

We understand that different Atlassian deployments offer different functionalities. That’s why we’re striving to make your Atlassian project management a productive experience even after transitioning out of the Server.

How are we going to do that? By maintaining feature parity for all our apps across deployment platforms. This means that most of the app features that you get in Server will be made available in Cloud and Data Center versions (if they aren’t already available).

More Cloud Apps Are on the Horizon

Besides that, we’ll also be releasing more Atlassian Cloud apps to help you make the most out of the platform. In fact, we’ve just released two more Atlassian cloud apps a few weeks ago for this exact purpose!

So, be on the lookout for more exciting Atlassian Cloud offerings from us.

If you haven’t already, check out our latest Jira and Confluence cloud apps!

Continued Server App Development

We plan to develop WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira and Excel-like Bulk Issue Editor for Jira regardless of the deployment options for as long as feasible.

In fact, at least until February 2, 2024 Pacific Time (PT), we’ll develop these apps and provide continued support to all our customers.

Whether you’re following Atlassian’s journey to the Cloud or staying on Server until the EOL, we’ll continue supporting your project management needs.
